Conceived as a dialogue between clarity and warmth, this single-family residence explores the notion of the “modern classic”—an architecture grounded in timeless proportions, yet articulated through a distinctly contemporary lens. The design brings together pure geometries, tactile materials, and a carefully controlled palette to create a home that feels both enduring and quietly current.

From the outset, the project is oriented toward its natural surroundings. The layout of both the ground floor and upper level is deliberately organized to capture expansive views of the surrounding greenery and forest. Large, precisely positioned openings frame the landscape like a series of living tableaux, allowing natural light to shape the interior throughout the day and seasons. This strong visual connection dissolves the boundary between inside and outside, making the landscape an integral part of the spatial experience.

Internally, the architecture is defined by a sense of calm rigor. Clean lines and balanced proportions provide a structured framework, within which materials and textures introduce depth and nuance. Surfaces are selected for their authenticity and longevity, reinforcing the project’s aspiration toward timelessness. Functions are interpreted in a contemporary manner, resulting in fluid, open living spaces that support both everyday life and moments of retreat.

Furniture and objects—both indoors and outdoors—are approached as an extension of the architecture itself. Each piece is carefully curated, contributing to a cohesive composition where scale, materiality, and detail are in constant dialogue. This holistic approach blurs the distinction between architecture and interior design, allowing the house to be experienced as a unified whole.

The meticulously designed gardens extend this narrative beyond the built volume. Structured yet natural, they provide a serene and ever-changing backdrop that enhances the architectural presence without overpowering it. Together, house and landscape form a balanced composition—one that aspires to longevity not through statement, but through restraint and precision.

House K.28 ultimately embodies a quiet confidence: a project that resists trends in favor of enduring qualities, positioning itself as a contemporary interpretation of a classic domestic architecture.
