NABOA Tulum is the global hospitality brand NABOA’s first expression of its vision for nature, slow living, and human connection. Set within a 2,500-square-metre jungle site, the project approaches architecture, interiors, and landscape as one cohesive experience. As they shared with us, “The brand chose Tulum as its starting point precisely because nature is already deeply woven into everyday life here, offering an innate setting for people to rediscover balance and reconnect with their surroundings.”

For NABOA, the focus is not on what a hotel “looks like,” but on what guests “feel” while being there—to walk barefoot, reconnect with nature, embrace simplicity, and rediscover a rhythm of life free from the pressure of time. Inspired by the idea of “following a winding path,” the spaces unfold around a pool and tropical courtyard, using a clear geometric order to respond to the site’s untamed vegetation while balancing openness with shelter. Ultimately, NABOA hopes guests will remember not a particular room, piece of furniture, or amenity, but the feeling of truly slowing down and reconnecting with themselves and their surroundings.

The conception of NABOA Hotel brought together Jaque Studio, led by Mexican architect Jesús Acosta—an expert in projects throughout the Yucatán Peninsula—and the Australian firm Studio Wenden, responsible for the artistic direction, interior design curation, and furniture design and production. The interior atmosphere is a kaleidoscope of craftsmanship and contemporary sensibility: Oaxaca-made rugs, ceramics by Escarabajo, lighting by Niumbra, textile works by Caralarga, and bespoke wooden furniture that evoke intimate, sensory-driven luxury.

Ethereal and luminous, the spaces where absolute calm meets the gentle warmth of organic textures are the unmistakable signature of NABOA Hotel in Tulum. Conceived as a contemporary sanctuary, it combines organic architecture, traditional techniques such as chukum, and a curated selection of artisanal pieces that evoke intimate, sensory-driven luxury.

Nestled between lush vegetation and the turquoise waters of the Riviera Maya, this retreat opens its doors to offer a singular hospitality experience designed to reconnect guests with what truly matters: a perfect balance of nature, serenity, and an atmosphere that pays homage to local legacies.

The property's main volume invites guests to reconnect with the outdoors through a lounge covered by a double-height pergola, furnished with generous sofas and a library that is home to exceptional art editions. From this space, the transition to the garden, pool, solarium, and suites unfolds naturally—almost as if choreographed. The restaurant rises as a double-height hall with an open kitchen and a terrace elevated above the natural ground level, offering a sweeping view of the pool and the central garden.

Studio Wenden deepens this calm spatial narrative through a thoughtful selection of furniture, textiles, and objects. The interiors pair solid-wood pieces with clean lines, low seating in shades of green and sand, dark-toned tables that anchor each room, and integrated shelving displaying artisan ceramics, books, and understated artworks. Suites incorporate airy curtains, organic-fiber bedding, and recessed or linear lighting that washes the chukum walls with a soft glow. Bathrooms—including some with sculpted tubs and outdoor showers—are conceived as open sanctuaries for personal care, where the transition between interior and exterior becomes gradual without compromising privacy.

NABOA Hotel ensures rest and privacy with only ten suites in three distinctive formats: The Nest, 61m² with a private terrace; The Tropical, 85m² including a living area, private terrace, and indoor and outdoor showers with a bathtub; and The Pavilion, 112m² featuring a mezzanine, two bedrooms, living area, and terrace. Each space invites guests to a contemplative retreat where time seems to slow down.

NABOA's materiality is defined by a restrained palette rooted in organic elements that weather gracefully and harmonize with the environment. Chukum—a traditional Yucatan finish—wraps walls and surfaces, giving the ensemble a warm, subtly textured appearance.

Limestone and travertine marble cover floors, bases, and steps, while wooden structures and carpentry add rhythm and warmth to ceilings, pergolas, and built-in furniture. These neutral surfaces capture the filtered light that trickles through the treetops, casting gentle shadow patterns across pathways, terraces, and masonry walls, allowing the green of the vegetation and the glint of water to take prominence.

A stay at NABOA Hotel is an invitation to realign one's priorities around absolute well-being. Yoga sessions, deep relaxation practices with sound bowls, and barré classes shape a wellness program designed to restore body and mind. The experience is complemented by treatments such as the Mayan massage, inspired by pre-Columbian wisdom.

NABOA Hotel Tulum, a global concept with a local soul, marks the beginning of a hospitality philosophy that transcends the traditional. As the brand's first property in the Riviera Maya, it anticipates future destinations where nature inspires a new romanticism of rest for contemporary nomads.
