In Xi'an, a city where ancient history and modernity blend seamlessly——This 230-square-meter model apartment is more than just a spacious residence,it serves as a cultural landmark for contemporary elite families. Here, the Eastern heritage of the ancient city walls converges with the international aspirations of discerning lifestyles.“Drawing on this foundation,our team distilled the essence of 18th-century European social balls,translating the balance between ritual and relaxation.Rather than replicating ornate carvings or superficial retro stylistic symbols,they allowed the romantic elegance of classical aesthetics to breathe new life into modern architectural frameworks.”— Founder of Shu Tian Design.

Stepping through the entrance marks the opening act of the entire home drama. As a transitional zone shifting from external noise to an intimate private realm, the entryway embodies the narrative imagery of "overture and invitation." Free from excessive ornamentation, it cultivates a sense of ritual through the interplay of objects, light and shadow, and material textures. Sculptural art pieces and restrained focal arrangements facilitate a gentle transition from social identity to familial identity. The warm texture of stone meets the matte finish of metal, gazing upon one another to transform the etiquette of a "nodded invitation" from ballroom culture into a tangible spatial language. Every grain and texture of these materials serves as an opening to life's stories, weaving together classical rituals of living with contemporary philosophies of home. From the very first step across the threshold, the rigid order of the outside world gradually dissolves, while the softness of home gently unfolds.

The spacious and seamlessly connected living and dining area serves as the spiritual heart of the entire home, the stage for the second act of the script, "Aria of the Grand Gathering." It is a theater of light and the primary venue for family social interaction. The curved ceiling and arched furniture soften the starkness of right-angled walls, weaving the fluid rhythm of a ballgown's hem into the very form of the space. Hand-hammered metal, jade countertops, and velvet upholstered furnishings interlace, their materials bearing unique marks of time through meticulous craftsmanship.

The dining area continues the overall restrained and refined aesthetic. Suspended art pendant lights, resembling frozen folds of a dancing skirt, create a flowing visual rhythm through their varied heights. The lighting spans both the living room and dining area, weaving these two functional zones into a cohesive whole. An irregularly shaped stone dining table is paired with upholstered chairs featuring gemstone inlays. Adjacent to this, the bar, breakfast nook, and wine corner seamlessly connect, accommodating diverse lifestyle scenarios—from formal family gatherings to casual meals and intimate drinks. On the dining table, artistic floral arrangements and curated vessel displays form a three-dimensional still life, where contemporary soft furnishings coexist with collectible artifacts, achieving an aesthetic layering across different temporal dimensions. As guests arrive as promised and glasses clink, the space resonates with a homecoming aria—a celebration uniquely its own.

As the banquet concludes, the narrative transitions to its third act, "Nocturne and Dreams," where the master suite becomes a sanctuary shielded from the world's chaos. The entire suite comprises a bedroom, an independent walk-in closet, and a master bathroom, forming a complete private system. Through meticulous control of materials and light, it creates a serene atmosphere conducive to healing and meditation. The curved, upholstered headboard draws inspiration from fabric folds, while velvet and textile bedding capture subtle shifts in light. The furniture seamlessly blends practical functionality with sculptural elegance.

The art of wall murals and textured hard upholstery serve as the foundational backdrop for the space, while artistic ornaments and small sculptures add delicate accents. The transparent glass walk-in closet gently showcases the owner's cherished clothing and collectibles. The primary bathroom downplays its utilitarian function, transforming the routine of washing and bathing into a soothing bedtime ritual through the use of fragrances and miniature artistic displays. The clamor of the ballroom settles here entirely; the space sheds its social function, serving only its inhabitants.

A truly complete residence serves not only for social gatherings and hosting guests but also attends to the inner world of every family member. The elder's bedroom steps away from the romantic and delicate ambiance of the common areas, embracing a more serene and substantial atmosphere. Warm, dark solid wood furniture, with its steady texture and low-saturation tones, aligns with the aesthetic preferences of older adults, creating a distinct sense of character within the overall space.

The eldest daughter's room reflects her passion for ceramics, featuring furniture with soft, rounded contours, abundant handcrafted textured fabrics, and artistic installations that cultivate an atmosphere of handmade creativity. The younger daughter's room, by contrast, embraces gentle, childlike geometric forms and woven textures to safeguard her boundless imagination. The children's room features extensive built-in seating and bed storage integrated into the hard finishes, while soft furnishings focus on display and artistic expression. The seamless collaboration between hard and soft elements ensures a harmonious balance of safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal.
